Retail Specialist (St. John's) - Contract

We are looking for a Retail Specialist to join our team at the St. John’s Brewpub for a one year contract.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Selling merchandise and beer to consumers in the Retail Store
  • Managing the merchandise / beer inventory and re-ordering based on aligned safety stock
  • Leading tours
  • Sampling and educating consumers on our beers
  • Assisting head brewer in daily operations
  • Off Site beer education sessions
  • Managing social media account
  • Receiving brewery raw materials, merchandise and full goods inventory
  • Selling in house beer to local accounts
  • Working in National Team to develop event ideas and partnerships
  • Creating purchase orders and ensuring payment to all vendors
  • Reconciling inventory at month end, POS data to actual sales every month
  • Daily bank deposits and withdrawals and reconciling the cash account to ensure all cash and sales are accounted for
  • Leading community engagement sessions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business/Commerce / Marketing major is preferred)
  • MUST be 19 years or older
  • Cicerone certification® / Prud’homme certification® would be an asset
  • Previous hospitality/retail experience
  • Access to a vehicle
  • 2-3 years of sales experience
  • Must be able withstand physically demanding tasks
  • Well organized, ability to multitask.
  • Previous public speaking and presentation skills would be an asset
  • Must be able to work independently

We are looking for a passionate Brewer to join our team at our North Toronto location.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • University or College Degree in Science
  • Formal brewing education is an asset
  • Brewing experience is preferred
  • Food and/or Beverage production experience is an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Forklift certification is an asset

Qualifications:

  • CIP and sterilization of tanks
  • Yeast collection & handling
  • Beer filtration and centrifugation
  • Brew house operation
  • General housekeeping and sanitation

Vice President, Marketing

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver market share, brand performance and brand health targets
  • Lead and gain alignment to marketing planning including engagement, turnover & talent pipeline management
  • Accountable for overall marketing budget, resource allocation, and creative process from brief to launch, agency Management and monthly brand monitoring, reporting and action plan management
  • Manage commercial product innovation process from concept to package design and delivery
  • Develop Brewpub Brand/Media strategy, executing traffic driving programs/initiatives
  • Manage in-house digital strategy including internal creative services team
  • Manage people resources across brands and business needs
  • Lead department initiatives including staffing, policy development and implementation, agency structure, and overall department projects

Qualifications

  • A University Degree in Business or related field
  • Minimum 6-8 years of packaged goods experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years brand management experience
  • Well developed creative skills leading the creative process from brief to launch, media planning, promo campaigns, developing and creating a message for the brand
  • Strategic thinker with ability to develop plans that will drive results in the short and long term with ability to mentor, develop and coach a team to ultimate performance
  • Strong influencing and communication skills – both internally and externally, with ability to develop strong relationships with impact and influence
  • Well developed business acumen, financial discipline, project management and negotiation skills with strong communication & presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of regional route to market
  • Bilingual is an asset
