BARREL YARD BROWN ALE

Brewmaster’s Notes

The original brown ale that was the inspiration for the Bedrock in the Ottawa pub. This is made with harder water and is slightly drier than the Ottawa brown ale.

Brewed at the Toronto Brewpub, our Brown Ale is a classic English-style pub ale made with pale malt and roasted malt to give the beer a mid-brown colour and a smooth roasted caramel flavour. The hops are used sparingly in order to show off the malt flavour of this beer and to make it very drinkable.

Tasting Notes: Biscuity malt aroma and dark malt caramel, “cracker jack” palate with smooth texture and balanced finish. Hops are only used for dryness, not for aroma.
