BELGIAN WIT

Brewmaster’s Notes

This beer represents a style made famous in Belgium in the early 1800s. Traditionally made with “wind malt”, or air dried malt, these beers were the palest beers of their day with a very white foam head on them that combined to give them their name “wit” or white in Flemish. The spice traders in Belgium brought tropical flavours back from faraway lands, and the Belgian brewers combined them with their unique brewing techniques to make some truly beguiling wheat beers. We are very proud of our version of this super complex beer style.

A refreshing beer made with a unique blend of ingredients. The soft texture and pale colour come from the use of wheat, coriander and orange peel. Our special yeast also produces the complexity and deep fruity flavour. Unfiltered, the resulting cloudiness gave rise to the term “Wit” or White beer.
