Regional Brand Development Manager (Montreal)

Role Description and Overview:

Reporting to the Vice President Sales Operations, the Mill Street Regional Brand Development Manager will represent the interests of Mill Street Brewery in their respective market. With a focus on driving awareness, affinity for the Mill Street brand and volume driving programming, the BDM will work alongside the Regional Labatt team and provide support in all Mill Street related customer and consumer programs and events. The BDM will be the resident expert on the Mill Street brand, each beer in the portfolio and the unique selling proposition it delivers. The BDM will build relationships with customers, consumers and the Labatt Sales & Management team, training the sales team on Mill St. products, culture and innovations. Maintaining roots in the sales field, the BDM will be a key driver of Mill Street program creation and execution.

Scope of Role:

  • Coordinate and perform ongoing Mill Street product portfolio, culture and innovation training with in-market sales personnel. Ensure that each member of the sales team is current and fully versed on product features and benefits with a clear, concise USP related to competitive brands sold in the market.
  • Provide regular in-field support to members of the Labatt sales team via tandem selling. Using factual and impactful craft beer segment and Mill Street specific data to assist the field sales team in making a compelling sales case in both the retail and on premise channels.
  • Complete the Mill Street customer staff training program in retail and on premise sales channels. Ensure that at conclusion all relevant key selling factoids are top of mind for staff.
  • Identify Mill Street brand appropriate consumer events and sponsorship opportunities in the market. Liaise with internal marketing and sales stakeholders to secure approved consumer events and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Recruit, train, and provide leadership and direction for required part-time Mill Street events and sampling team members. BDM will lead in executing and organizing Mill St. presence at all events.
  • In coordination with Mill St. marketing team and applicable Labatt departments, design and assist in implementation of Mill Street brand building and visibility programs.
  • Monitor usage and implementation of Mill Street field sales tool resources. Assist with allocation recommendations
  • Maintain and submit a monthly Mill Street brand activity plan flowing from the annual plan and specific KPIs.
  • Complete and submit a measurement and evaluation report on all executed activities and programs.

Role Requirements:

  • Demonstrates a passion for all things craft beer and specifically Mill Street.
  • Has completed at minimum the level 1 Cicerone program.
  • A Minimum of 3 years sales / marketing experience in a CPG environment with a proven track record of results.
  • Has the ability to work in a ‘satellite’ capacity and take decisive ownership of the business. Must be a self-starter!
  • Possesses a ‘can do’ attitude with a defined and urgent bias for action.
  • Dynamic business acumen. Able to deliver high quality results in varying capacities (sales and marketing) and channels.

Brewpub Assistant Brewer (Ottawa)

Permanent part-time (24 hours/week) Assistant Brewer of Mill Street Brewery’s pub brewery in Ottawa, Ontario Canada.  Reporting to the Head Brewer, Mill Street Ottawa brewery you will assist with production responsibilities for beer brewed and packaged (kegs and growlers) for both in-house consumption and off-licence sale.  Position begins in Ottawa, Ontario in November, 2016.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting with raw material and process supplies ordering and inventory management
  • Assisting with brewing, fermentation, finishing and packaging of multiple brands including new seasonals.
  • Assisting with production scheduling and schedule attainment.
  • Assisting with maintenance of brewing equipment and utilities and housekeeping in our showcase brewery

Miscellaneous
• Conduct monthly housekeeping audits as per schedule
• Coordination of brewing supplies to pubs
• Directly supervise temporary employees, students and/or pub brewers

QUALIFICATIONS
  • University Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, or Food Science 
  • Formal brewing education is an asset 
  • 2 years of Brewing experience minimum 
  • Food and/or Beverage production experience is an asset 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment 
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends

Role Description and Overview:

Reporting to the Manager – Brewpubs, Special Events and Trade Marketing, the Mill Street Trade Marketing Manager will work closely the sales team across the country to develop programs that support volume growth at both on trade and off trade accounts. With a focus on driving awareness, affinity for the Mill Street brand and volume driving programming, the Trade marketing manager will work with the Ontario Mill Street Sales team and the Regional Labatt team to create and execute programs that drive growth at our customers and are on our brand. The Trade Marketing Manager will build relationships with our sales team, customers, consumers, and suppliers. The Trade Marketing Manager will be a key driver of Mill Street on trade program creation and execution.

Scope of Role:

  • Identify, develop and create interesting Mill Street brand appropriate consumer and customer programs. Liaise with internal marketing and sales stakeholders to develop programs and support sell-in to customers.
  • Active role in developing, creating and managing annual brand programs – ( ex. Lights Out, Adventure Experience, Local Stout etc)
  • Prepare sell sheets, fact based sales tools and other required materials to communicate with sales team and support customer sell-in.
  • Responsible for execution of program measurement and evaluation. Including gathering feedback from customers to help develop future strategies.
  • Manage the print on demand service and vendor
    • Ensure all assets are created, templates developed as needed, approve custom POS
  • Own all aspects of the brand visibility and consumer merchandise programs
    • Source new items
    • Maintain appropriate inventory levels
    • Manage process for custom items as required by sales team
  • Develop product distribution kits to support new product launches
  • Allocate appropriate work in field days to make customer visits with territory managers to develop programs as required. Use Mill Street brand guidelines.
  • Work with Ontario regional sales managers to manage execution of our brand at venues.
  • Complete the Mill Street customer staff training program in retail and on premise sales channels.

Inside Sales Rep (Scarborough)

  • Work with Accounts Receivable in managing the outstanding balances for direct delivery customers
  • Work with Logistics/Transportation Department when assembling delivery runs, referencing delivery schedules and checking on delivery status for customer orders

Role Requirements:

  • University Degree in Business or related field preferred
  • Previous Sales experience preferred
