Retail Sales Manager (St John's)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Selling merchandise and beer to consumers in the Retail Store
  • Managing the merchandise / beer inventory and re-ordering based on aligned safety stock
  • Leading tours
  • Sampling and educating consumers on our beers
  • Assisting head brewer in daily operations
  • Off Site beer education sessions
  • Managing social media account
  • Receiving brewery raw materials, merchandise and full goods inventory
  • Selling in house beer to local accounts
  • Working in National Team to develop event ideas and partnerships
  • Creating purchase orders and ensuring payment to all vendors
  • Reconciling inventory at month end, POS data to actual sales every month
  • Daily bank deposits and withdrawals and reconciling the cash account to ensure all cash and sales are accounted for
  • Leading community engagement sessions

Job Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business/Commerce / Marketing major is preferred)
  • MUST be 19 years or older
  • Cicerone certification® / Prud’homme certification® would be an asset
  • Previous hospitality/retail experience
  • Access to a vehicle
  • 2-3 years of sales experience
  • Must be able withstand physically demanding tasks
  • Well organized, ability to multitask.
  • Previous public speaking and presentation skills would be an asset

Position Overview:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver territory volume, share, distribution, and margin contribution targets by total territory, sales channel and brand within a specific geography through leveraging commercial resources (brands, programs, systems etc.)
  • Ownership of annual territory planning, individual customer planning, promotional evaluation and customer sell-back, competitive intelligence gathering and opportunity identification (with Regional Sales Manager approval)
  • Territory spend and budget management
  • Plan and execute consumer programming and sales standards across all channels (Retail, On-Premise, Community)

  • Build strong business relationships with key customers and consumer groups

Job Qualifications and Competencies:

  • University Degree preferred.

Associate Brand Manager

Position Overview:

What you will do:

As Associate Brand Manager for Mill Street Brewery, you will become an integral member of our national marketing team. Working in a deadline-driven, goal-oriented, multi-functional environment your scope will include:

Brand Management

  • Contribute to planning and execution of national brand marketing campaigns
  • Lead the planning and execution of innovation launches and local marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure brand programs/partnerships are delivered on time and in compliance to brand guidelines and government regulations.
  • Contribute to Mill Street commercial 1 year plan including research, strategy, planning, and execution.

Digital Marketing

  • Lead development of monthly and weekly schedule for social media advertising based on commercial priorities
  • Lead development of specific social media plans to support IMCs and ongoing brand messaging
  • Collaborate with in-house creative team to produce relevant and engaging content
  • Lead and manage social media budget including plan for weekly spend allocations by brand
  • Create and execute campaigns on Facebook and Instagram including creation and management of campaigns, ad sets and ads
  • Monitor and optimize campaign performance daily
  • Report on campaign performance weekly and monthly
  • Monitor and engage consumers on Mill Street’s social media channels
  • Assist in media reporting and connections planning

Innovation

  • Contribute to packaging creative briefs and participate in packaging design process
  • Manage the execution of national innovation packaging plan
  • Create and distribute internal and external go-to-market tools (sell sheets, POS signage, etc)

Must haves:

  • A University Degree in Business or related field.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years marketing experience with related packaged goods or beverage goods or beverage alcohol.
  • Experience creating or leading the creation of social media advertising (videos, photos).
  • Experience deploying or managing the deployment of social media advertising. Direct experience managing advertising with Facebook Ads Manager preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with creative specialists to design and deploy consumer marketing campaigns through multiple media channels.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to distill insights and propose relevant recommendations
  • A focused, detailed and disciplined approach to tasks.
  • The ability to prioritize and strong organization skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing trends and best practices.

Marketing Specialist - Graphic Design & Digital Media

What you will do:

Join Mill Street’s in-house creative team, working with our creative and marketing leaders to imagine, create and deliver breakthrough advertising for Mill Street Brewery and Brickworks Ciderhouse. You will be tasked with designing OOH advertising materials for our national sales team at retail and licensee accounts while contributing to an effective social media content creation and deployment strategy.

Working in a deadline-driven, goal-oriented, multi-functional environment your scope will include:

Social Media Advertising:

  • Assist brand team in development of monthly and weekly schedule for social media advertising based on commercial priorities

Must haves:

  • A creator’s mindset and innate drive to invent, create and experiment with digital content
  • Expert-level design capabilities with a solid sense of typography, colour and balance
  • High competence developing and creating digital content including photo, video and copywriting. First-hand photography and basic video production experience strongly preferred
  • High competence using Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and InDesign) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint)
  • Experience with a wide variety of image, audio, and video file formats and production software
  • Experience in social media deployment (Ad Manager), analytics and reporting
  • Understanding of design principles and the application of brand guidelines
  • Strong communication and writing skills

Assistant Brewer (Toronto Brewpub)

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Head Brewer, you will be responsible for production assistance in the brewing and packaging of kegs and growlers, for both in-house consumption and off-license sale.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with regular production and packaging of beers, focusing on kegging, bottling and cleaning to start and progressing to more advanced cellaring and brewing activities based on aptitude and experience.
  • Manage raw material and finished goods inventory and invoicing to the restaurant and outside accounts.
  • Assist with ordering and payment of goods and services to support day-to-day operation of the brewery.
  • Assist with production scheduling.
  • Assist with maintenance of brewing equipment and utilities
  • Share brewing knowledge with the community, through tours, educational events, and tastings.

  • Undergraduate level science degree

Brand Ambassador (Toronto)

About The Role:

We are looking for energetic candidates with a passion for craft beer, festivals, and samplings.  Brand Ambassadors will represent the brand across Ontario at festivals, samplings, tournaments, and corporate events. Mill Street Brewery is an industry leader in the craft beer world and continues to produce new innovative products that require promotion, marketing, and knowledgeable team members to assist conveying our key messages to our consumer base. This position is a mixture of consumer engagement, creative thinking and manual labor.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with set up and tear down of Mill Street booth at events
  • Ensure customer satisfaction is met and escalate all issues to the Sponsorship & Events Manager
  • Maintain upkeep of event merchandise, signage and equipment
  • Executes quality control checks to ensure satisfactory representation of the brand
  • Assist with load in and load out kegs from events
  • Ability to use draught equipment
  • Handling tokens and ticket counts
